Prior to joining the Capalino team, Jesse was a Legal Assistant in the White Collar, Investigations & Compliance practice group at Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, working on internal investigations and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) related matters. Passionate about serving the community, Jesse was also active on pro-bono cases including assisting incarcerated individuals in federal court under the Criminal Justice Act and using her bilingual Spanish skills to help asylum-seeking individuals.
Jesse’s political engagement began early on in her college career when she joined Bill de Blasio’s 2013 campaign, assisting with fundraising efforts and voter outreach. Jesse further pursued her interest in public policy when she was awarded the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) internship program in 2015, gaining the distinct opportunity to work in Congressman Charles B. Rangel’s Capitol Hill office. Jesse later returned to Washington, D.C. as a summer fellow at theGROUP, a boutique government relations firm, where she worked on legislative and political analysis for Fortune 500 companies and the Government of Trinidad and Tobago. Jesse is an alumna of the Hillary Clinton 2016 campaign, where she worked with the Latino Vote and Hispanic media teams to advance a national Latino vote strategy that helped win nearly 70 percent of the Latino vote nationwide.
Upon graduation from the Austin W. Marxe School at Baruch College with her Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs, cum laude, Jesse was awarded the yearlong U.S. Department of State Congress-Bundestag Young Professionals fellowship in Germany. As one of 75 young American professionals – Jesse lived in the “green heart” city of Erfurt and focused on civic engagement and refugee integration efforts in East Germany.
Jesse is a born-and-raised Upper West Sider turned Harlemite. She is passionate about youth and women empowerment and is active in helping the next generation of leaders.
