Jeanne is the former Commissioner of the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development with over three decades of experience working at the intersection of government, nonprofits and the private sector.

As the Managing Director at Capalino for over a decade, Jeanne has provided an impressive range of strategic advisory services to several of the top nonprofit organizations in New York. Her goal has always been to help these organizations achieve long-term success and sustainability. Jeanne specializes in a wide range of services, from prospective planning, advocacy, partnership development, and public fundraising to diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy. She also develops comprehensive social impact initiatives for businesses, enabling them to give back their time, talent, and resources to the communities in which they operate. In addition, Jeanne oversees Capalino’s internal social impact and giving strategy.

One of Jeanne’s notable achievements was leading the team that helped Fair Futures secure over 30 million dollars in recurring funding for foster care youth. She also helped FWD.us pass the NYS Health and Essential Rights Act (NY HERO ACT) which was signed into law in 2021 and recently aided RIP Medical Debt in obtaining a public investment of 18 million dollars for New Yorkers who are facing significant medical debt. Working with the Manhattan Theatre Club, Jeanne helped secure State and City resources for this vital cultural institution to renovate its theatre.

Jeanne has an accomplished background with a mix of government, non-profit, and private sector experience. Jeanne served as the Commissioner of the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development for 12 years and previously held several senior management positions at The After-School Corporation, Victim Services (now known as “Safe Horizon”), and the NYS Attorney General’s Office. She is a graduate of Swarthmore College and NYU School of Law and has served on multiple non-profit boards including The Trust for Public Land, the New York Women’s Foundation, and the Bronx Children’s Museum. Additionally, Jeanne is an advisor on the Elmezzi Foundation’s Workforce Leaders Committee. She has received hundreds of awards and was named twice to the list of the 100 most influential female leaders by City & State New York.
