Prior to joining Capalino+Company, Ms. Hinkson held senior level positions in both the public and private sectors. Most recently, she served as Vice Chair and Commissioner of the New York City Board of Standards and Appeals, where she heard and adjudicated zoning variances, special permits and administrative appeals cases. Prior to her roles with NYC BSA, she served as the Brooklyn Borough Commissioner for the NYC Department of Buildings, enforcing the NYC Zoning Resolution and Building Code.
As Deputy Commissioner of Planning and Community Development for Sullivan County, Ms. Hinkson oversaw numerous community development initiatives. Earlier in her distinguished career in public service, she served as Capital Program Manager for the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, administering design and construction contracts for the City’s cultural institutions.
Susan holds two law degrees from New York Law School, and is a registered architect in the state of New York. Ms. Hinkson sits on the Board of Trustees of WaveHill in the Bronx, and is a Trustee of New York Law School.
