Successfully positioned Governors Ball and Meadows Music and Arts Festival as two of the New York City’s leading socially-conscious music festivals, earning strong accolades from Mayor de Blasio and other elected officials and community leaders. Capalino helped implement an array of initiatives, including creating festival jobs for residents and community members; providing funding and in-kind support for youth programs and workforce development programs; supporting local economic activity by inviting local food vendors to sell their products; prioritizing minimizing waste and caring for the environment; partnering with local soup kitchens and pantry programs, as well as some of the city’s leading nonprofit institutions and community based organizations.
