With a background in civil engineering and construction management, Pallavi Desai joins Capalino as Senior Associate, where she is a significant member of the Agency Problem Solving team. Pallavi is uniquely qualified to assist clients with a wide range of needs as they seek to secure licenses and approvals, resolve problems, and manage the complex relationships with the community and government.
With a keen eye for detail and a can-do attitude, she has successfully navigated complex situations for various large-scale projects, specifically new buildings and high-rise construction. Utilizing her knowledge in construction management, civil engineering, and building code requirements, Pallavi leverages these concepts into the project planning process to successfully achieve core project objectives. Aided by Capalino’s extensive network within New York City government, business, and civic communities, Pallavi is well-armed to help clients accomplish their goals and get things done.
Taking inspiration from her late father’s role as a Professional Engineer and Assistant Deputy Commissioner for NYC’s Human Resources Administration, Pallavi started her engineering career working in structural design and special inspections. After gaining vital experience in those fields, she joined a consulting firm in 2014 as a Project Supervisor, where she eventually led the project management team and oversaw a 175 project portfolio.
Pallavi received her Bachelor of Engineering from Stony Brook University. Never one to stop learning, she obtained her Masters Degree in Construction Management and an MBA in Project Management from Stevens Institute of Technology, in Hoboken.
