A call to the restaurant confirms that, as reported in yesterday’s Opening Report, Travertine will finally be opening to the public this evening. In the kitchen is Manuel Trevino, the former Top Chef contestant and Babbo alum, who will be preparing a Mediterranean menu comprised of apps such as pig head terrine and straciatella crostini, a whole slate of pastas (including “Charlie’s Linguine,” a nod to the previous tenant), and a straightforward offering of entrées. Dinner service runs late into the night (till 1 a.m. Tues. – Thur., 3 a.m. Fri. and Sat.), but the planned downstairs space isn’t up and running just yet. This one’s been two years in the making, so get excited.
