Q. I noticed a lot of construction activity around the Brooklyn tower of the Brooklyn Bridge. What’s happening there?
A. The Empire-Fulton Ferry section of Brooklyn Bridge Park is being renovated. A highlight will be Jane’s Carousel, a restored 1922 antique donated by Jane and David Walentas that will be housed in a pavilion designed by Jean Nouvel. The pavilion’s steel structure is quite visible from the subways crossing the Manhattan Bridge, said Ellen P. Ryan, a spokeswoman for Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Other changes include extending the park lawns to the south, tree planting and improvements in irrigation and park lighting. “We expect this section to open in late summer,” Ms. Ryan said in an e-mail.
